Omar Coloru holds a PhD in Ancient History from the Universities of Pisa and Paris I. He was a postdoctoral researcher and a Research Fellow at the Collège de France in Paris "Chaire d'histoire et civilisation du monde achéménide et de l'Empire d'Alexandre". His research focuses on the Hellenistic period, with special attention to Hellenism in Iran and Central Asia. He also studies ancient and modern travellers in the East. He is the author of Da Alessandro a Menandro: il regno greco di Battriana (Pisa-Roma 2009).
