Maria Isabel Gonzalez Rocheta de Almeida Fernandes

Maria Isabel Rocheta is a graduate in Romanic Philology at the Faculty of Letters, University of Lisbon, and a PhD in Letters (Portuguese Literature) from the same university. She is a Professor from the Department of Romanic Literatures of FLUL, where he has taught Modern and Contemporary Portuguese Literature in undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs.

She is the coordinator of Portuguese literature and culture at Centre for Lusophone and European Literatures and Cultures of the Faculty of Letters, University of Lisbon (CLEPUL), and directs the publication of a series of critical anthologies tale of Portuguese and Lusophone short stories. In the same research centre, she is currently coordinating a team of researchers for preparing genetic editing of unpublished manuscripts of Eça de Queirós. She has published studies on Portuguese writers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and on the teaching of Literature.
